Torch tracks

Everyone has moments when things get tough, but we all have a favourite track that can turn things around. A single song can change how you feel. That’s your Torch Song — it lights the way out of the dark.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) has launched Torch Songs to bring together music lovers and top artists in celebrating the power of music to lift us out of life’s low points. Artists are recording exclusive versions of songs that have inspired them, and fans are invited to share their own Torch Songs.

Men especially can find it hard to speak up when things get tough, but Torch Songs shows it’s not unusual to struggle sometimes.

Torch Songs — songs that guide us out of the dark.

Short Lived!

Well the sad news is that Tulip Radio closed down this afternoon. It was a huge shock and disappointment to me and many locals. As a result this Blog becomes pretty meaningless as it was intended as a supplement to my regular Radio show. As far as Blogs go, this must be one of the shortest lived in the history of the Internet.

The reason for the closure was put down to lack of Technical Support staff to keep the computers up and running 24 hours a day. I have seen those computers and they are well beyond my comprehension. If a restart doesn't solve it, then call for help.

Just recently Microsoft, Epson, Google and Adobe have all issued updates that have messed with peoples computers so not much hope for us mere mortals.

My show featured many Local South Holland Bands as well as up and coming bands, unsigned Bands, here in the UK and Worldwide.

When musicians start a Band it is because they have a passion for what they are doing and very often that passion peaks when they release their first Album. It has been my privilege to be able to play many bands debut albums on my Show on Tulip Radio, hopefully bringing them to the attention of  wider public.

I would like to thank local bands;
  • Verax
  • Kamikazee Hotshot
  • Limeshark
  • Proto Inferno
  • Fuel For The Fire
  • Aviators
  • The Scene is Dead
  • Mr Jack
  • Hot Fiction
  • Coach Calhoun
  • Harmonica Dave Hunt
  • Disabled Angel
  • The Unknown
  • Stuart Lynwood
  • Michael Bell and
  • Kattesh
for their loyal support over the last 7 years. Some of those bands are already no more and some are just starting out. I wish you all well and hope that the passion for the music continues. If I have missed out anyone I apologise. I put everything down to my age, it is a wonderful excuse that I use a lot these days!

I would also like to thank all of the Bands who sent me  their Albums from across the Globe. From Canada, Brazil, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia and Japan. There are undoubtedly more over the years but these are the recent ones that come to mind at this sad time.

It is possible that the Radio Station will be taken over by another Media Company so I will keep this Blog open for a while but do not expect to be posting much more news to it.

Long live the passion to Rock
